We’re proud to share that Hennepin Healthcare Research Institute has been selected as the lead 2025 grantee of the Kaiser Permanente Center for Gun Violence Research and Education, in collaboration with Wellspring Second Chance Center and Empower Therapeutic Support Services Inc.
This partnership strengthens our shared mission to uplift survivors through community-centered healing, cultural wisdom, and survivor-led recovery.
As part of this initiative, Hennepin Healthcare Research Institute will develop and evaluate a survivor peer mentorship curriculum, building long-term healing connections between survivors and trained peer mentors.

Fisher’s of Men Anger Management /  AA programming is currently in session!

Fishers of Men Program,the flagship initiative of Wellspring Second Chance Center, was developed as a faith-based re-entry program that will shepherd community resources and provide programming and services expertise in the area of improving the lives of ex-offenders.

The goal of Fishers of Men is to enhance the lives of ex-offenders (program participants) so that they may re-enter society as law-abiding, productive and responsible citizens.

Our Mission

The Well Spring Second Chance Center Mission is to shepherd community resources, meet basic needs, promote self-sufficiency, assist and protect the vulnerable, formerly incarcerated, marginalized persons, and preserve families through the efficient and cost-effective delivery of services expertise, crisis management and with an emphasis in the area of improving lives of ex-offenders. We provide diversionary programing.

Fishers of Men will use two-way relationship groups, individual counseling, Minneapolis Public Schools curriculum, self-esteem building, conflict management, college preparatory curriculum, Counting Your Blessings-Theory Based Curriculum, restorative justice, and cooperation with corporations while contributing to a safer community.
